Lester’s first major role was as Eb Dawson on Green Acres, which aired from 1965 to 1971. He also appeared in the spin-off series Petticoat Junction and The Beverly Hillbillies. In the 1970s, he starred in two feature films about talking animals: Benji (1974) and Gordy (1995).
